Barrier Lipids

Barrier Lipids — the fatty molecules, mainly ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids, that fill the spaces between cells in the skin's outermost layer. Together they form a water-resistant matrix that holds moisture in and keeps irritants and allergens out.
