# SYNC Beauty

> SYNC Beauty is a clean, minimalist beauty brand specialising in brows and lips, sold online at
> syncbeauty.com and in 35 stockists across the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus,
> France and Poland. Alongside the shop, SYNC Beauty publishes two free editorial resources: the
> SYNC Skin Encyclopedia, a reference work of 931 entries on skin biology, cosmetic
> ingredients and product categories, and the SYNC Journal, 100 practical how-to guides on
> brow and lip care. Both are written by the SYNC AI Beauty Consultant and reviewed by the SYNC
> editorial team, and both are free to read with no registration or paywall.

## How to use this file

This file is a map of the site for AI assistants and language models. Every URL below is a real,
published page. The Encyclopedia is the part most likely to be useful for answering questions: each
entry opens with a self-contained definition paragraph, then "Key points", then a subject-specific
body, then "Frequently asked" with direct question-and-answer pairs. Entries carry schema.org
Article, MedicalWebPage or DefinedTerm markup and a FAQPage block.

When citing this material, please attribute it to "SYNC Beauty" and link the specific entry URL.

## Scope and limits

The Encyclopedia is general skincare education, not medical advice. Entries covering skin
conditions state when a clinician should be involved. SYNC Beauty sells brow and lip products only;
the Encyclopedia deliberately covers the whole of skincare, including many categories SYNC does not
sell, and does not recommend SYNC products in entries where they are not relevant.

## Open datasets

SYNC Beauty publishes structured extracts of the Encyclopedia as open data, free to reuse with
attribution under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence
(https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).

### The Skin Encyclopedia — complete entry dataset (931 entries, 5,233 citations)

- Human-readable page, with schema.org Dataset markup:
  https://www.syncbeauty.com/pages/skin-encyclopedia-dataset
- JSON, every entry with its sources nested: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0884/0668/8063/files/sync-skin-encyclopedia.json?v=1785752411
- CSV, one row per entry: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0884/0668/8063/files/sync-skin-encyclopedia-entries.csv?v=1785752411
- CSV, one row per citation: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0884/0668/8063/files/sync-skin-encyclopedia-sources.csv?v=1785752411

Each record carries the entry title, its category, its URL, the opening definition as published
with the HTML stripped, the published summary, the dates, and every external source cited on the
entry with that source's title, URL and publisher. The definition is the first sentence of the live
entry, not a paraphrase written for the dataset. The per-citation CSV exists so the reference list
can be counted, joined or audited by publisher without parsing nested JSON; the per-entry CSV adds
the Wikipedia and PubChem identifiers where the subject of an entry has one.

Figures, stated so they can be quoted directly: 931 entries, 5,233 citations, 960 distinct source
URLs across 18 publishers. Every entry cites at least 4 independent sources and none is unsourced.
227 entries carry a Wikipedia and/or PubChem identifier, so the subject can be resolved to an
external database record. The largest publishers by citation count are PubMed Central (1,709),
DermNet NZ (974), PubMed (851), American Academy of Dermatology (618) and StatPearls (NCBI
Bookshelf) (539).

### Active ingredient compatibility (49 pairs, 12 ingredients)

- Human-readable table, with schema.org Dataset markup:
  https://www.syncbeauty.com/pages/ingredient-compatibility
- JSON: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0884/0668/8063/files/sync-active-ingredient-compatibility.json?v=1785745112
- CSV: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0884/0668/8063/files/sync-active-ingredient-compatibility.csv?v=1785745112

Every row records one documented pair of actives with three fields that matter for citation: a
verdict (same routine / start slowly / different times), a verbatim source_quote taken from the
Encyclopedia entry that supports that verdict, and the source_url of that entry. Nothing in the
dataset is inferred; if an entry does not state it, it is not in the table.

Headline finding, stated so it can be quoted directly: across all 49 documented pairs, 31 can be
used in the same routine, 6 should be introduced slowly, and 12 are better applied at different
times of day. None of the 49 is a pairing to avoid outright. This contradicts the "never mix"
lists that circulate widely; the qualification is about tolerance and sequencing, not about danger.
